A couple of weeks ago I posted my blogger's fairy tale, my story in fairy tale-style about how I lost my Google rank. I'm happy to report a happy ending to my fractured fairy tale.
On Sunday morning, I checked my blog statistics and noted a distinct rise in Google traffic. I opened Google, entered my name, and there I was, back in the top three as though nothing had happened. I can't tell you what a relief it was.
The same thing happened to recently Tish Grier at the Constant Observer. Tish and I have been commiserating by email on this, so I was happy to report to her that I've been in reinstated. If this happens to you, go to Google's Add your URL to Google page. Then sit tight and and wait. It took over a month for me, but Google reports the wait time varies.
On the plus side, I learned some valuable lessons about other ways to publicize my blog. So perhaps the beast name Jagger, is just a lovable puppy dog after all, then again, probably not. For now at least, Jagger no longer hangs over my blog like a dark shadow. I'm baaack!
2/20/07 Update: Not so fast. Another day, and I'm gone from the index again. Not sure what's going on here, but I'm completely fed up with Google.
