After two days of not getting RSS feeds in Thunderbird 1.5, and no good solution in site, I went to the Mozilla.org Web site looking for the previous version. Unfortunately, it's not easy to locate on the site, which only displays the latest version, but after conducting a search in Google, I was able to find it.
If you want to revert from Thunderbird 1.5 back to 1.07:
- Uninstall 1.5.
- Go to http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/releases/1.0.7.html.
- Scroll down to the section on downloading Thunderbird and select the link for your OS.
- After downloading, install and everything should be back to normal. At least it was for me.
I'm hoping that Mozilla fixes the RSS problem in 1.5 soon.
Thanks for the link. I've tried to go to 1.5 twice now (1.5 and 1.5.0.2), and RSS was still broken in both. It baffles me, the release notes claim they've fixed several RSS bugs. . how about fixing the one that's breaking everything? *sigh*

Thanks for the comment. Try exporting all of your feeds, then delete the feeds in 1.5.0.2. Then import your feeds and see if they work in 1.5.0.2. If that doesn't work, delete the feeds and add a feed at a time and see if it works. I've found that RSS does work in 1.5.0.2, but I've only experimented with a four or five feeds. I know adding feeds one a time is a pain, especially if you have a lot of them, but it's worth a shot. Let me know if it works. RM
