When I heard about the pricing for the upcoming Surface Pro, my jaw literally dropped. If Microsoft wants to compete in the tablet market it's going to have to do much better than this. I think you can expect the Surface family to show up in the Tablet Hall of Shame along with HP TouchPad and the RIM PlayBook, bad ideas priced too high to compete with iPad -- and doomed to fail.
