As part of my continuing effort to clean my office, this morning I cleared off my comfy chair for the first time in months. Satisfied at the fruits of my labor, I plunked myself down into the chair and across the room it looked as though something was sticking out of the bottom of my Mac Book Pro.
Curious enough to get up, I crossed the room, turned the computer over and to my surprise found that the battery had expand beyonds its case as you can see in the picture above.
I immediately called AppleCare, which without question agreed to send me a new one straight away. I did a little research and found in the Apple Store forum that I'm not alone in having this strange problem. Engadget reported about it in a 4 part series in 2007.
I asked the AppleCare Tech what caused the issue, but she claimed not to know. It's most disconcerting. Not sure if it was dangerous or not, but I'm certainly glad I found it and they are replacing it.
Have you had a similar problem with your Mac Book or Mac Book Pro battery? Leave a comment and let me know.

Wow, that can't be good (safe)!? Good to hear that Apple are replacing this without hassle, I haven't seen this myself before.
