Ziff-Davis had a post this morning on a vulnerability found in Office 2007, only a month after its consumer release. and after much fanfare about how much more secure it was than previous versions.
When I read this post, I couldn't help but feel a parallel of reading a story about the Iraqi VP narrowly escaping injury after a bomb went off where he was giving a speech.
In one case, the U.S. forces went into a building sniffed for bombs and found nothing. Yet there was an attack not long after that. In spite of the U.S. forces' best effort, terrorists showed they could strike at will. Same goes for hackers. In spite of Microsoft's best effort, these guys found a flaw and could if they desired, exploit it at will.
